Does she have a laywer, ? and have her go to a CPA and let them do a reshearch and sign a form to give them power of attorney, that will let them ask the IRS any question on taxes…and if any thing she can file a Innocent spoucal that she is unware of the taxes and free her from any penialty this the CPA should know about…but there is lots of paper work but well worth it…..good luck…

Your sister definitely needs to ask her lawyer about this. If she has a tax accountant, he/she would know what to do, also.
